Each illustration has an alternate picture when an illustrated extra flap (about 1 / 3 of a page wide preceeding the page) opens, completing the picture. In the bottom margin is the beginning of a rhyme. When the flap is lifted, the completed picture is revealed along with the rest of the rhyme. The verso of each leaf contains a complete poem.
