Burckhardt, Fairfield Porter. Near fine, spine somewhat toned. Solus Locus was a journal of experimental prose and poetry that was published in just four issues in 1961 and 1962. It was an American effort by bthe New York School of poets though it was published in France (and actualy prited in Spain) by Harry Mathews. It derived its name from a 1914 French novel by Raymond Roussel. Issue number one is particularly difficult to obtain individually.

Signed by Ruth Krauss and with a nice inscription by her and she has also underlined her name on the the front cover and added "Hi!" Uncommon signed thus.

Premiere issue (limited to 100 copies, here unnumbered) features the work of all four editors plus Barbara Guest, Frank O'Hara, Edwin Denby and others; Volume II (limited to 50 copies, here unnumbered) is "A Special Issue of Collaborations" with many of the same plus also Paul Blackburn, Andre Breton, William Burroughs, Gregory Corso and a great many others; Volume III-IV is "A Special Double Issue" that includes all four editors and also LeRoi Jones, Larry Rivers, Diane Di Prima, James Merrill, Anselm Hollo and more. A lovely, near complete set.
