Collated complete.This two volume set features the correspondences between the popular poets Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Robert Browning, depicting their initial admiration for one another's work and the growth of their romance. The two poets were popular during the Victorian era and soon began corresponding, keeping the letters and eventual marriage secret due to a fear of disapproval of Barrett's father. Bound in crushed half morocco with cloth to the boards. Externally very smart with slight fading to the spines and to heads of the boards, slight rubbing to the extremities with bumping to the extremities of the boards and very minimal rubbing to the joints and raised bands. Very minor offsetting to the extremities of the free endpapers. Internally firmly bound with only cords showing to the front blanks to 'Volume One'. Pages lightly age toned and generally clean with the odd minor mark only. Very Good. book.
