Addressed to 'Dear Mr Langbridge' and signed 'Hugh Macmillan'. The handwriting is hard to read. Begins: 'At this distance from post-offices I cannot get a postal-order conveniently to send a subscription of 10/6d. half-a-guinea for your Presentation'. He will organize payment on his return, and asks for his name to be put down on rhw subscription list. 'I wish I could give you a larger sum - as I have a great admiration for Mr Stevens, and thoroughly endorse all you say about him'. He praises Langbridge's contributions to a periodical, and refers to 'the Queen's visit to Ireland'. He waxes lyrical about 'this glorious spot, the most romantic and magnificent in [Scotland?]', wishing the recipient could be there with him.…
