Lectures on the Science of Language by Max Muller 1870 I am pleased to offer a scarce copy of a vintage book, titled: "Lectures on the Science of Language" By Max Muller, delivered at the Royal Institution of Great Britain in April, May and June 1861. This small hard cover book (5 ½ x 7 ¾ inches, 416 pages) was published by Charles Scribner and Company of New York, dated 1870 as part of the Series of Works Upon the English Language and Literature. The book is bound in chocolate brown cloth boards with gilt titles on the spine. It is specified to be the "First Series" on the spine. Please see the photo of the Table of Contents for your information. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hard covers are dust-dulled and the gilt titles on the spine are a bit worn and faded but still legible. Inside, there is a homemade bookplate glued to the front endpaper but that is the only mark I found in the book whose interior pages are surprisingly clean and bright, without toning or foxing. Both hinges are intact and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…
