Interiors fine except for archival tape reinforcement to the front hinge, creasing to pp19-28 and soiling to the lower edges of pp20-21. Jacket good, worn at the edges with minor loss. Other copies of this edition seen came with an empty envelope bound in near the end (this one without), which may have been intended for map(s), although these are not called for in the contents or mentioned in the entries on Worldcat and Library Hub (in contrast, the 1st edition c1964 had 4 bound-in for Kuwait and the Neutral Zone, Kuwait Suburbs, Ahmadi, and Kuwait City). This apparent 2nd edition, dated 1968 to the Foreword by Saleh Shehab (Assistant Under Secretary for Culture, Publicity and Tourism) was issued for International Tourist Year. It describes a forward looking, rapidly modernising country with respect to government (including a bio of Sheikh Sabah), national identity (with a description of the national flag and emblem, and sheet music for the National Anthem), education, welfare, infrastructure, finance, oil etc. Practical advice for business travellers and tourists covers history, geography, hotels, restaurants, the Museum, tourist sites, airlines, travel agencies, diplomatic contacts, passports and visas, postal rates, banks etc.

Wrappers somewhat worn; lower edge of rear wrapper repaired with tape by a former collector. Other copies of this edition have an empty envelope bound in at the end (not present here), which may have been intended for maps, although none are called for in the contents. - Removed from the library of the Arab British Centre in London with their stamp of ownership to flyleaf.
