Russell's book was first published in 1914 by Open Court in Chicago. This is the much scarcer Open Court issue of the revised second edition of 1929 (of which, per Blackwell & Ruja, 500 copies were printed) as oppposed to the more common Norton issue (2,000 copies). The Lowell lectures, delivered in 1914, offer Russell's arguments concerning sense-data and how this relates to human perception of the external world and external objects. One of Russell's most important early works in metaphysics and epistemology and one of the works in which his logical atomism (influential on the early Wittgenstein) was developed. A touch of rubbing to the boards' edges; jacket with a hint of edge wear and a bit of sunning to its spine panel.
