Diversity marketing is a marketing strategy targeting diversity-based customer segments and deviating from the ¿traditional¿ target market (e.g. caucasian and heterosexual individuals) to gain a competitive advantage on the market. Companies trying to tap those new segments oftentimes face the challenges of negative reactions regarding incorrect representation from the individuals targeted or even from the usual target-market because of non-identification. These negative reactions can lead to a compromised brand image and impair the company¿s competitive ability. For companies to achieve an advantage on the market and not the opposite, the consumers¿ behavior concerning different diversity marketing variables has to be studied and analyzed. Neuware - This research presents an algorithm that improves the ability to view objects using an electro-optical imaging system withat least one polarization sensitive channel in addition tothe primary channel. An innovative algorithm for detection and estimation of the defocus aberration present in an image is also developed. Using a known defocus aberration, an iterative polarimeter deconvolution algorithm is developed using a generalized expectation-maximization (GEM) model. The polarimeter deconvolution algorithm is extended to an iterative polarimeter multiframe blind deconvolution (PMFBD) algorithm with an unknown aberration. Using both simulated and laboratory images, the results of the new PMFBD algorithm clearly outperforms an RL-based MFBD algorithm. The convergence rate is significantly faster with better fidelity of reproduction of the targets. Clearly, leveraging polarization data in electro-optical imaging systems has the potential to significantly improve the ability to resolve objectsand, thus, improve Space Situation Awareness.This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. This non-traditional imaging technique may be employed to improve space situational awareness and image deep space objects from a ground-based sensor system. The use of this technique is motivated by the ability to overcome aperture size limitations and the distortion effects from Earth's atmosphere. Laser speckle imaging is a lensless, coherent method for forming two-dimensional images from their autocorrelation functions. Phase retrieval from autocorrelation data is an ill-posed problem where multiple solutions exist. This research introduces polarization diversity as a method for obtaining additional information so the structure of the object being reconstructed can be improved. Results show that in some cases the images restored using polarization diversity are superior to those reconstructed without it.This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
