16mo., Fourth Edition, with coloured frontispiece, title in red and black, and numerous delightful illustrations illuminated in gilt and colours and incorporating thoughts and tenets from Scripture (one per day throughout the year), a few diary entries completed in a neat hand, neat contemporary inscription on front paste-down, wanting front free endpaper, cutting mounted on rear paste-down; original blue cloth, upper board elaborately blocked and lettered in gilt and blind, gilt back, bevelled boards, gilt edges, primrose endpapers, a very good, bright, clean copy. IN THIS CONDITION, A RARE SURVIVAL.

SECOND EDITION. Small 8vo. (4.3 x 2.9 inches). Colour frontis, colour printed text and decoration on title page and each text page with four colour and gold printed illustrations, one for each day. Blank leaves with ruled lines are bound in opposite each page, with a handfull filled in in ink with names and birth years on the relevant days. Neat three line inscription, gifting the book to a brother from his sister Annie, dated 1874, on the front free endpaper. Publishers highly decorative brown cloth binding with black decorations to the rear board. The front board and spine are decorated and lettered in black and gilt. Bevelled edges. Yellow coated endpapers. All edges gilt. Aside from the few names written into the diary dates, and a little gentle rubbing to the edges of the boards this is a fine copy of this beautifully produced book.
