Leszek Holdanowicz (born June 3 , 1937 in Dmytrow ( Chołojów commune ), died February 15, 2020 in Warsaw ) - Polish graphic artist, poster artist, teacher, full professor at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts , co-founder of the Polish poster school . Holdanowicz graduated from the 1st Secondary School. priest Stanislaw Konarski in Rzeszów. In the years 1953 1958 he studied at the Faculty of Graphics of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków . In 1961, he resumed his studies at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts under the supervision of professors Julian Pałka , Wojciech Zamecznik and Józef Mroszczak , graduating in 1964 with a diploma with honors from professor Henryk Tomaszewski . In 1965 he became assistant to prof. Mroszczak. In 1969 he was on a scholarship in Italy . In the years 1974 1984, Holdanowicz ran a graphic design studio for visual information elements and systems. Since 1982 he has been involved in computer graphics. In the years 1974 1980 he served as dean. In the years 1987 1990 he was the head of the Department of Graphic Design. Leszek Holdanowicz is, among others, winner of the Award Tadeusz Trepkowski (1963), awards at the International Film Poster Competition in Colombo (1965), Gold Medal (group) at the International Book Fair in Leipzig (1965), awards in the competition for the logo of the Center for Contemporary Art in Warsaw (1986), awards in the competition for a graphic sign for ZPAP "Polish Applied Art" (1987), Honorary Mention at the 1st International Triennial of Graphic Arts. Tadeusz Kulisiewicz in Warsaw Imprint 2008. Awarded the Gold Medal for Merit to Culture Gloria Artis.
