Buch
Zustand: Gut. Erste Auflage dieser Ausgabe. 190 (2) Seiten. 18 cm. Umschlagentwurf: Günther H. Magnus. Guter Zustand. - Graham Greene (* 2. Oktober 1904 in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, Großbritannien; 3. April 1991 in Vevey, Schweiz; eigentlich Henry Graham Greene) war ein britischer Schriftsteller. . Leben: . . . . Aus: wikipedia-Graham_Greene. [Thriller] First Edition. Octavo (18 x 12cm), pp.[viii]; 261; [3], blank. Publisher's red cloth lettered in gilt to the spine, red endpapers. Contents clean, no inscriptions, some sunning to spine and top edge, minor lean. An underworld manhunt thriller which was published and filmed as 'A Gun For Hire' in America. The espionage novels of Graham Greene were read by Ian Fleming (some later being reviewed by him), and undoubtedly influenced his early James Bond adventures. Both authors had worked in Intelligence and became friends; Greene would holiday at Fleming's Goldeneye retreat in Jamaica in the 1950s. Gilbert, p.643.
