Sie ist ein kulturelles Artefakt, das tief in gesellschaftliche Bedeutungszuschreibungen eingebunden ist. In ihrer Studie untersucht Sarah Schauberger die Prozesse der Vergeschlechtlichung dieses Musikinstruments als Beispiel für gesellschaftliche Differenzierungs- und Machtstrukturen hier: das Wechselspiel von Geschlecht und Kapitalismus.
