In den WarenkorbCloth. Zustand: Fine. None (illustrator). First edition. Two smart first edition volumes of these thrilling spy novels from British writer Frederick Adam Diment. Two volumes. First edition. Written by Frederick Adam Diment, a spy novelist who published four novels between 1967 and 1971. All four are about the adventures of Philip McAlpine, an industrial spy. Diment disappeared from public view after his last novel, adding to his cult figure status among fans of 1960s spy novels. This set contains the first two of Diments four novels: The Dolly Dolly Spy, 1967. Philip McAlpine is drafted into big league intelligence. He is soon blackmailed by the big boss Rupert Quine, intent on stirring up trouble wherever the Union Jack flies. The Great Spy Race, 1968. McAlpine has now been incorporated into the poisonous fabric of the espionage tapestry. His much loathed chief idly passes him the buck, but the task falls apart from the first spin of the Russian roulette revolver. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrappers are very smart with light wear to the extremities and the odd small closed tear. Minor sunning to the spines. Two 3" closed tears to the wrapper of The Great Spy Race at the spine and rear fly leaf. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Fine. book.

In den Warenkorb[Spy novel] UNCORRECTED PROOF COPY of the first edition. Octavo (20 x 13cm), pp.208. Publisher's printed buff wraps. Pencil ownership of bibliographer Jon Gilbert, contents clean, covers lightly handled, spine wrinkled as expected. Near fine. A risqué James Bond-style spoof, being the second adventure featuring Adam Diment's highly-sexed, pot-smoking British agent Philip McAlpine (an obvious predecessor of Austin Powers). A rare proof; no other copies currently listed online.
