Chatwin had finally finished her publication - History of Iron Working in Britain - and now turned her attention to her own life, including her 1930s and 40s childhood, her interests in dance, puppetry, art, wood carving, architecture, dressmaking, history, entertaining, early Christian art, iron-working, travels to Europe and America.
