A valuable insight into gold bearing areas in Alaska.

De Windt set off from Juneau intending to complete a journey to Paris by land. He visited the Klondike just as the gold rush had begun, but his narrative is more important for his account of a stay with the Tchuktchis on the coast of Siberia, the first European to do so. De Windt was eventually picked up by the whaler Belvedere, and returned to San Francisco.

Firm and square, just slightly faded and shelf rubbed with a few mild bumps at the extremities. Contents sound and clean, just age toned; no pen-marks. Complete with fold-out map, not showing any tears. Not from a library so no such stamps or labels. A very good copy in decent condition.
