These two volumes trace protests made from the year 1641 to 1742, encompassing a fraught and turbulent era in British history, with the commencement of the English Civil War in 1642. After 1641, this work jumps to 1660, when Charles II was reinstated to the English throne.Bookplate of Nath. Cholmley to the front paste down. Nathaniel Cholmley was a Member of Parliament from 1756 to 1774, for Aldborough and Boroughbridge. In a full calf binding. Externally, rubbed. Minor bumping to the extremities. A little loss and lifting to the tail of the spine. Spine label to chipped. Minor discolouration to the boards. Surface cracks to the spine.
