Ibuprofen show anti-inflammatory activity. Ibuprofen meets all the ideal characteristics to formulate in the form of colon drug delivery system. Mucoadhesive polymers whose mucoadhesive properties had been reported were used along with alginate for the preparation of capsules. The mucoadhesive polymers used in the formulations were xanthan gum, eudragit, and chitosan.
