Collated, complete.With verses from English poet and novelist Letitia Elizabeth Landon (better known by her initials L.E.L), one of which (Captain Cook) is dedicated to her younger brother, Whittington Henry, in recollection of their domestic childhood adventures together.Landon's influence travelled to fellow English writers such as Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Robert Browning, Alfred Tennyson and Christina Rossetti, though her works were largely ignored or misrepresented after her death. In the original embossed cloth boards, with gilt-decorated crushed morocco back strip. Externally, with damp staining to the boards. Rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright, with scattered spotting throughout, with more concentrated instances to the plates. Good. book.
