Verlag: Curtis Miller Studio, 1914
Unmounted Photograph. Zustand: Good. An original 1914 Asahel Curtis photograph, showing a man in a canoe working to free a fish from his net. Asahel Curtis was the brother and ex-business partner to famed photographer Edward S. Curtis. In the background can be seen a woman in another canoe and in the distance, the opposite riverbank. The photographer's reference number "29151" and "Curtis & Miller" are written in the negative. Date from University of Washington Special Collections, who also hold a copy of this photo. Photo measures 8 x 9.5 inches wide, is slightly faded w. chips from corners, lower right corner w. a crease and two small spots of emulsion loss near crease. A fine historical image, capturing the harvesting of food, possibly a Salmon, from the Tanana River in Alaska. Ask about other Asahel Curtis images that we currently have available.
