A thrillign tale of the Firedrake, a British F - Class Fleet destroyer and her adventures with the 8th Flotilla and Force H in the North Sea and Norway and later in the Mediterranian. Heavily damaged near Sardinia by air attack, she was safely brought to Gibraltar and at the time of the book was undergoing repairs in the US. Sadly, she was later torpedoed by U211 and broke in half on Atlantic convoy duty. Only 26 of her crew of 148 were rescued in extreme weather conditions.
