This copy has 14 pages of the publisher's advertisements to rear, cataloguing their popular novels priced at one shilling each. Aesop was a storyteller who is thought to have lived in ancient Greece around the 6th century BCE. He is best known for his collection of fables featuring anthropomorphic animals that illustrate moral lessons of honesty, wisdom and kindness. The second copy is lovely. Internally the original cloth copy is generally firmly bound with title page tender with a closed tear, pages lightly age toned with occasional light spotting. The second copy is lacking the title page, renewed with facsimile, otherwise firmly bound with generally clean and lightly age toned pages. The clamshell is lovely. Very Good Indeed. book.
