Bookseller's label of John Bally of Bath (in business 1720-1774). Inscription on inner front board: 'This little gift is offered with affection to Fanny Stewart by her Uncle Colonel Desborough, Bath, May 2nd, 1809'. The author, John Evans, 1767-1827, was a Welsh Baptist minister who managed a school in London first at Worship Street Hoxton & later at Pullin's Row Islington. An easy introduction to English geography.
