THE EVOLUTION OF PHYSICS THE GROWTH OF IDEAS FROM EARLY CONCEPTS TO RELATIVITY AND QUANTA, BY ALBERT EINSTEIN & LEOPOLD INFELD, THE CAMBRIDGE LIBRARY OF MODERN SCIENCE. A light blue, cloth bound, hardback book, with silver coloured titles to the spine and front board, silver emblem of a scholar on front board. Comes with dust jacket that has the odd tear and brown spotting inside jacket. Please see photos. Dust jacket still has its original price of 10s. 6d net. 319 pages all intact and in clean, readable order. Published originally in 1938 this book was reprinted in 1947. The book is in good condition and as its a used book, normal wear, marks and tear apply consistent with use and age. The quality of the pages inside are of a high standard and look like they have hardly been used or read. This wonderful book is a plain and logical account of the steps through classical physics to relativity and beyond, written for a wide public, but with a full sense of responsibility. It gives Professor Einstein's account of his own great discovery of relativity.

Later printingÂof this classic work, which traces the development of ideas in physics. Octavo, original blue cloth. Boldly signed by both authors on the front free endpaper, "A. Einstein. 53" and "L. Infeld 1958." Near fine in a very good dust jacket. We have never seen another example signed by both authors. Rare and desirable.
