Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'Evolution in Modern Art: A Study of Modern Painting 1870-1925' offers an authoritative and lucid exploration of the radical transitions that defined Western painting during a period of unprecedented creative upheaval. Authored by the influential critic Frank Rutter, this work meticulously ch…arts the progression of artistic thought and practice from the foundational moments of Impressionism in the late 19th century to the complex landscape of early 20th-century modernism. Rutter provides a vital roadmap through the major movements of the era, including Post-Impressionism, Fauvism, and Cubism, explaining the aesthetic shifts and technical innovations that challenged centuries of traditional representation.Through a focused study of pivotal artists and their contributions, the text illuminates how the artist's role shifted from observer to innovator. By contextualizing the evolution of style within the broader intellectual and social changes of the time, 'Evolution in Modern Art' serves as an invaluable resource for understanding the roots of contemporary visual culture.
