No Jacket. 1st ed. f/piece of 4 photos of reconstructed head of Pithecanthropus erectus, Piltdown Man, Neanderthal and CroMagnon + 12 prelims+248, 27 further ills inc. 7 plates ex-pagination, uncut fore-edge; occ. eraseable pencil lines throughout and some more extensive marginalia to final chapter which is eraseable but of some interest, also a number of the entries in the chapter biobliographies at the end have pencil crosses in margin, otherwise clean and tight, no ownerships marks, top edge of text-block has some slight ingrained dustiness, covers clean with mnimal edge-wear, back joint has stretch of cloth splitting but this is not lifting and is only slightly visible, spine a tad faded with just a hint of rubbing to lettering, top also slightly rubbed. A brave stab at the topic but hampered by lack of concrete information and misled by Piltdown forgery. Thus primarily of historical interest. Note: quoted shipping rates are calculated for 500-700 gram net weight, cost will be modified up or down as appropriate outside this range. Size: 15 Cm x 22 Cm.
