In den WarenkorbFIRST EDITION, frontispiece and 5 etched plates, with numerous drawings to the text, all the work of Robin Tanner, a couple of spots to prelims recurrent at rear, pp. 179, 4to, original green cloth, Tanner vignette to upper board stamped in gilt, backstrip lettered in gilt, lean to spine and a little fading to backstrip and bord…ers with a few small marks to cloth (including a white mark at foot of lower joint), edges a little spotted, tail edge with a faint red wine stain, this encroaching to border of endpapers, endpaper maps by Robin Tanner, a few small spots to these, good. Inscribed, in the elegant calligraphic hand of the illustrator, to the half-title: 'For Alma & Ralph, from Heather & Robin, with love. December, 1964.' Ralph Jeffery was a friend and colleague of Robin Tanner, sharing the career of school inspector.
