There are stab marks along the inner edge of the pages and several of the signatures (group of pages) are pulled and likely to come loose. A good complete copy. This work was first published by Packard and Van Benthuysen in 1825 in an edition with only 39 pages. That edition's title began with the word "Memoir" instead of "Essay".

Soft cover. 8VO, 23cm, 55p., uncut, original printed grey wraps with the title repeated in frame border, partial light damp stain on the upper margin, slightly dust worn but very good copy.
