The frontispiece photograph is detached, but present. The pages are yellowed. Inscribed by Deming on the title page. Edwin Deming was an early illustrator and painter of the American West where he traveled with a few Indian tribes. He grew up with the Sac, Fox, and Winnebago in western Illinois and later lived among Indians for thirty-one years.
