No Binding. Zustand: Good. 1st Edition. This is an original old well executed pencil drawing of the ruins of the Basilica of Maxentius and Constantine in the Roman Forum in Rome, Italy. It was begun by Emperor Maxentius around 308 AD and completed by Constantine after his victory in 312 AD. And was historically known as The Temp…le of Peace by some. The drawing measures 23cm by 18cm approx., and is not dated, but was loosely inserted in an old scrapbook from the 1840s, so it probably dates to around that time. It appears to have been copied from a print by James Merigot published in 1796, the drawing although similar to Merigot's image, it does have some notable differences. This is a lighter item, overseas shipping costs will be reduced at checkout where possible.
