Hardcover. W. W. Deslow (illustrator). Later Bobbs-Merrill printing. 225pp. Octavo [23 cm] Red cloth over boards with the title stamped in black on the backstrip, and an illustrated paper label, featuring the new cover design by Bobbs-Merrill, mounted to the front cover. Very good condition. The extremities are mildly rubbed and bumped. There are numerous light moisture stains on the sunned backstrip, and the top edge of the rear cover is discolored. The endpapers are just a little foxed. Bienvenue, p. 193. With the publisher's imprint error "In" on the spine. Pictures by W. W. Denslow. The author notes at the beginning that it was the success of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, which led Baum to create this tale of Dot and Tot. Unfortunately, it did not quite catch on with the public, as Paul R. Bienvenue points out in The Book Collector's Guide to L. Frank Baum and Oz. This was the last collaboration between Baum and artist, W. W. Denslow, each opting to pursue offers from different publishers.
