In half calf. Volume I contains ten black and white folding maps, with two missing, while Volume II contains five folding plates to the rear, and a colour folding chronological chart. Both volumes containing numerous in-text illustrations. The founder of Boy's Magazine, Beeton published many educative series including this encylopedic dictionary of knowledge, offering both the definitions and stories behind particular terms and figures as well how they are pronounced.
