Roebling's Sons Company was responsible for the design, materials and construction of many of the most important suspension bridges in America beginning with the aqueduct across Pittsburgh's Allegheny River in 1844, the Niagra Falls Bridge in 1854, the Brooklyn Bridge opened to traffic in 1883, and the Manhattan Bridge in 1909. The photographic plates in this book record each step of construction , from the tower foundations to the completed bridge, of the Bear Mountain-Hudson River Bridge, opened in November 1924. All cable wire used in fabricating the two main cables, and the steel wire ropes used for foot bridges and suspenders, were furnished by the John A. Roebling's Sons Company. - ( Wir bieten zahlreiche Titel aus diesem Sachgebiet auf unserer HP an - We offer a lot of books in this field on our website ) Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 700.
