Daraus resultiert das Thema meiner Hausarbeit: Narrative Strategien der Emotionslenkung in 'The Dark Knight' (Nolan, 2008). Ich habe 'The Dark Knight' (Nolan, 2008) als Analysebeispiel ausgewählt, da der Film als erfolgreicher Blockbuster zahlreiche Strategien populärer Filmdramaturgie enthält und gleichzeitig über eine komplexe narrative Struktur verfügt. Ich hoffe, dass es mir gelingt, im Laufe der Hausarbeit narrative Strategien offen zu legen, die Regisseur Christopher Nolan intentional zur Emotionslenkung eingesetzt hat.Emotionen zu vermitteln ist ein entscheidender Teil des Kommunikationsprozesses zwischen Publikum und Filmemacher: 'Filme sind auf die emotionalen Aneignungsprozesse von Zuschauern ausgerichtet, diese bilden ihren intentionalen Horizont' (Wulff, 2006, p. 18). Emotionen sind Filmen und anderen audiovisuellen Medien also bereits eingeschrieben und von Filmemachern intendiert. Audiovisuelle Medien vereinfachen Emotionalstrukturen und 'thematisieren Emotionen in allgemeiner Form, zeigen die Gefühle realer Personen oder erfundener Figuren und lenken das emotionale Erleben der Zuschauer' (Bartsch, Eder & Fahlenbrach, 2007, p. 10).Aufbau der Arbeit: Am Anfang steht eine Einführung in das Thema 'Narration und Emotion' (Kapitel 2). Dieses Kapitel legt den Grundstein der Arbeit und errichtet das theoretische Grundgerüst. Nach einer kurzen Vorstellung des Analysebeispiels 'The Dark Knight' folgt das Kapitel 'Set the mood', welches sich inhaltlich mit den Anfangssequenzen audiovisueller Medien beschäftigt und sich auf Smiths 'mood-cue approach' stützt. Das 5. Kapitel 'Plotentwicklung' macht den größten Teil der Arbeit aus und ist in die Unterkapitel 'Figurenkonzeption', 'Zielorientierung und Konflikte' und 'Plot Points' geteilt. Der erste Grundbaustein umfasst die Vorstellung sowie die Bestimmung der im Film vorliegenden Archetypen, anschließend folgt die Analyse der einzelnen Grundbausteine. Den Abschluss der Arbeit bildet die Zusammenfassung des Untersuchungsgegenstandes mit anschließender Auswertung.Der Forschungsstand in Bezug auf das Heldenprinzip in Anlehnung an den Film Findet Nemo ist unzureichend. Es lassen sich weder Fachlexika, Handbücher noch Fachzeitschriften oder Artikel darüber finden. Der mangelnde Forschungsstand stellt sich zugleich als Schwierigkeit und Chance dar. Meiner Interpretation zufolge deute ich diesen Aspekt eher als Chance, unvoreingenommen die Thematik zu behandeln und anzuwenden.
