In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Near Fine. First Edition. Second impression of the true first edition, published in April 1943. The first impression was published just the month before, as stated on the printer's page. This copy is in outstanding condition for such a fragile small book published in wartime under restrictions. It has somehow survived the past 80+ years in virtually fine condition! ***Near fine in bright orange cloth-covered boards with black titles to spine. The book has no discernible faults. Boards and interior pages clean. No bumps or creases. Page block edges clean. No internal inscriptions. No creases or tears to the thin paper. No foxing. No offsetting. ***In a near fine colour printed dustwrapper, which has not been price-clipped, retaining the original publisher's printed price of 2s. 6d. net. Apart from a hint of rubbing at the top of the spine, there are no discernible faults. No creases, chips or tears. No browning. No foxing. Dustwrapper clean and bright. An exceptional example. ***64 pages. 188mm x 130 mm. ***The eight B.B.C. Talks roughly, but not exactly as they were given on air with four fresh sections that C. S. Lewis did not have time to deal with in the original B.B.C. Talks marked with a letter after the numeral of the contents, as follows. ***Contents: I. The Three Parts of Morality; IA. The "Cardinal Virtues"; II. Social Morality; III. Morality and Psychoanalysis; IV. Sexual Morality; IVA. Christian Marriage; V. Forgiveness; VI. The Great Sin; VIA. Charity; VIB. Hope; VII. Faith; VIII. Faith. ***A second impression of the true first edition, produced on wartime economy standard paper, and with very thin boards, published during the Second World War. These small wartime books by C. S. Lewis are very hard to find in collectable condition complete in their original dustwrappers. This copy is in exceptional condition - by far the best copy we have seen. For the discerning collector of the works of C. S. Lewis. ***For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging: any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only: we will reduce the P & P charge where appropriate - please contact us for postal rates for heavier books and sets etc.
