To explore this, he has to delve deep into the past history. In 1826, a book was found by an English-man capable of appreciating it: and it transpired that Ceylon had kept a dynastic history, second in importance only to that of China. Authentic history was pushed back to a period nearly four centuries B.C. Since that revelation, the works of contemporary Chinese pilgrims have corroborated the story. The spade of the excavator has uncovered monuments whose splendor we could hardly have believed from mere manuscripts records. The Archaeologist has brought to bear that critical analysis which is separating the truth from a mass of incoherence and exaggeration. The book is the product of extensive study of these records. The subject of the book is good in historical point of view. About the Author: - Miguel Castro Enriquez, also known as Mike Enriquez, is a Filipino television and radio newscaster. He is also the Consultant for radio operations of GMA Network, and president of the network's regional and radio subsidiary, RGMA Network Inc., and the Station Manager of Super Radyo DZBB 594 AM. He started his career in broadcasting as a staff announcer at the Manila Broadcasting Company in 1969. It began when he visited a friend in that company and accidentally discovered his interest in radio. He has since worked in various positions, as a broadcast reporter, a news editor, program director, and station manager, until he became manager of a medium-sized radio network. He also had stints in other radio networks such as Freedom Broadcasting Radio Network and Radio Mindanao Network (RMN), where he became vice president for the company. His vivid account was translated into French by Joachim Le Grand and published in 1701 (Paris). A Portuguese edition was first published in 1836. This English version by George Lee has been enlarged with an appendix.
