The very scarce volume XC of architectural periodical 'The Building News and Engineering Journal', with this volume covering each issue published between January and June, 1906.Founded in 1854, this publication was published under several titles during its history, appearing under this name from 1863 onwards, until 1926 when it was merged with 'The Architect', forming 'The Architect and Building News'.These issues are illustrated throughout, featuring contemporary photographs, attractive engravings of building facades and interiors, and a wealth of impressively detailed technical diagrams and architectural plans.With one hundred single page plates, seventy-seven double page plates, and two folding plates.Amongst the fascinating architectural locations discussed and illustrated with plates of architectural plans are Liverpool's New Cotton Exchange, proposed extensions to Garlands Asylum, and a number of plates each for Glasgow's Mitchell Library, the Hackney Central Library.Perhaps most exciting is a ground and first floor plan of the Tudor built Hampton Court Palace.
