Illustrated throughout with eight colour maps, three of which are folding. Collated complete. A Bordeaux wine directory and study containing historical observations and assessment of Bordeaux wine. Which, since its initial publication in 1846 has been regarded as the classic reference work on Bordeaux wines, and is to date considered the most comprehensive information source on Bordeaux' wineries. Written by Michel-Edouard Feret, a French wine expert, and Charles Cocks, an English schoolmaster and wine enthusiast living in Bordeaux. Illustrated by Eugene Vergez, a French painter and illustrator. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light wear and minor bumping to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards with small splits in the cloth to the head and tail of the spines. Rear hinge tender. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting and minor age toning to the extremities. A 4" closed tear to pages 344/345 has been sympathetically repaired with tape. Good. book.
