A very comprehensive reference guide to gardening, arranged in a dictionary format, with 550 illustrations. The name of [Isabella] Mrs Beeton (1836 - 1865) of "Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management" fame was used for many years after her death to promote household reference books. This edition is an attractive turn of the century guide to gardening, and includes "monthly calendars of garden work throughout the [English] year". The book is richly illustrated with drawings of flowers, plants, and gardening tools.
