The chart, which shows the area from Portland in the east to the Isles of Scilly in the west, is finely decorated with several compass roses with radiating rhumb-lines, sailing ships and the arms of the Earl of Portland. Also included are inset views of the Isles of Scilly, Portland, Lands End and Falmouth. The chart, which comprises two joined sheets, displays a great amount of detail concerning coastal areas, towns and rivers of Cornwall and Devon. A terrific example of this rare map in excellent condition. 58.5 cm x 95.5 cm.
