Containing eight full page illustrations, but lacking the map originally included in the book. Containing the bookplate and insignia of the previous owner to the front pastedown: 'Esse Quam Videri, Robert Washington Oates'. Containing a previous owner's inscription to the front free-endpaper, dated 'Bath, 1914'. In full red cloth binding. Externally, smart with some shelf wear. Cloth binding has faded, especially to the spine. Some marks to the boards and book is slightly cocked.
