This epistolary parish history of Barthomley, written by its former rector Rev. Edward Hinchliffe, details the village's local topography, Domesday history, genealogy, church monuments, customs, agriculture and social life. Each of the letters are addressed to Hinchcliffe's eldest son. In a quarter crushed morocco library rebind, with reference notation in gilt to the tail of the spine. Grained cloth boards. Externally, with light rubbing to the extremities and white marks to the spine. Internally, firmly bound.
