92 : 210 mm. 1 p. Envelope Jacqueline Picasso's hand. Note signed by Picasso Picasso" to Jean Leymarie of the Musée National d'Art Moderne in Paris: Joyente fête - Jean []". Signed by Picasso and Jacqueline Roque Picasso, Catherine Hutin-Blay et Bella.Jacqueline Picasso (19271986) was the last muse and second wife of Pablo Picasso. Their marriage lasted 11 years until his death, during which time he created over 400 portraits of her, more than any of Picasso's other loves. Catherine Hutin-Blay was her daughter, and step daughter of Pablo Picasso.Pablo Picasso perhaps the most influential and recognizable painter of the 20th century, is well known for his deep love and appreciation for women. Although he had many lovers throughout his life, only eight of them became his muses. The first of his muses was Fernande Olivier (1881-1966), who was also his first long-time partner. She is depicted in many pieces from his Rose Period. She left him after he became to possessive. The second of his muses was Eva Gouel (1885-1915) who was one of Fernande's friends. Eva is often called the queen of his cubist works" as she appeared in a series of his works of that genre. The third of his muses, Olga Khokhlova (1891-1955), a Russian ballerina, became his first wife. She was a big opponent of the Cubism he was developing at the time and demanded to be painted in a completely different style. The fourth of Picasso's muses was Marie-Thérèse Walter (1909-1977), who was 29 years younger then Picasso. She modelled for his Surrealistic pieces. The fifth muse was Dora Maar (1907-1997). She was a photographer and a painter and witness to him creating his masterpiece Guernica. With Françoise Gilot (1921) Picasso had two children. In 1964 she published her memoirs called Life with Picasso and moved to New York.He painted a series of at least 20 drawings of Geneviève Laporte (1926-2012), who ended the relationship in 1953.

Kein Einband. Zustand: Sehr gut. Picasso, Pablo (1881-1973) - Postcard with autograph note signed (excellent provenance) - Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, stage designer, poet, playwright and one of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century. Postcard signed "Picasso". Postcard, 6.0 x 4.25 inch, n.p., n.d. The postcard representing Picasso's home in Vauvenargues. The card also bears the signature of his wife Jacqueline as well as those of the Zervos couple, editors and friends of Picasso. From top to bottom: handwritten by Yvonne Zervos, in French: "proprieté de Picasso. Nous sommes heureux. Yvonne Zervos. Nous pensons à vous avec amitié". Translated: "Property of Picasso. We are happy. Yvonne Zervos. We think of you in friendship". She also wrotes the recipient's address. After that we see two handwritten lines written by Pablo Picasso, in Spanish: "He tenido mucho gusto en verle. Picasso". Translated: "I've been very pleased to see you Picasso". At the bottom of the card we see the signature of Jacqueline Roque/ Picasso (1927-1986) followed by that of Christian Zervos. Fine condition. The Zervos couple met Picasso in the 1920s. Christian, art critic and editor of Cahiers d'art, regularly publishes articles on contemporary painters. Particularly appreciating the works of Picasso, he wrote a catalog raisonné of his works over several decades, with the collaboration of the master. He also helped to make Matisse and Braque known. His wife Yvonne manages the family gallery which exhibits great contemporary artists, in particular their friend Picasso. In the summer of 1964, the Picasso s invited the Zervos to stay at their home in Mougins, accompanied by René Char. The recipient of this postcard is Carlo Frua de Angeli, a wealthy industrialist from Milan, a great collector of contemporary paintings and a friend of Picasso and Zervos. He is also the ex-husband of artist Mary Callery, who exhibited with Picasso in the 1930s. As for the Château de Vauvenargues represented on the postcard, it is a favorite of Picasso, in 1958 he bought the building from which he could admire the Sainte Victoire. Excellent provenance: comes from Frua de Angeli's estate. COMES WITH A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY BY ANDREAS WIEMER HISTORICAL AUTOGRAPHS. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
