The first UK edition of the author's first Albert Samson detective novel (issued a year earlier in the US). 8vo. 190pp. Red boards lettered in gold at the spine. Tips of two corners bumped, and the edges and endpapers lightly spotted. Very good in very good non-price-clipped dust wrapper, with a strip of light discolouration to the head of the rear panel, some fading to the publisher's red spine panel lettering and a little spotting to the flaps. The first of the author's Albert Samson novels, an Indianapolis-based private detective of the distinctly non-hardboiled variety.

First edition. First mystery, preceded by HOW TO BEAT COLLEGE TESTS. Small soil spot on top edge, edge of the bottom front corner and front endpaper have small, light water stain, otherwise fine in dust jacket without any corresponding stain.
