Description: Plate 71 from "Microcosm of London", published 1809.Artists and Engravers: Made by 'John Bluck' after 'August Charles Pugin & Thomas Rowlandson'. John Bluck (1791-1832) worked as a professional aquatint engraver. Thomas Rowlandson (1756-1827) was famous for his satyrical prints. His loose and quick way of working was ideal for the depiction of all kinds of daily scenes. He was one of the great British etchers of satyrical subjects. August Charles Pugin (1762/69-1832) was a French draughtsman, watercolorist, engraver and architect from Normandy. He fled Franced to be active in London. He co-operated with Rowlandson for Microcosm of London. Condition: Good, given age. Small margins. A dampstain in the lower right margin corner, some glue remains in the top margin.
