Andy Warhol, a leading figure in the Pop Art movement, had a close relationship with his mother, Julia Warhola, who was also an artist. Originally from Slovakia, Julia moved to the United States and greatly influenced Warholâs artistic development, particularly through her calligraphic and illustrative skills. In 1954, she published 'Holy Cats by Andy Warholâs Mother', a whimsical book featuring her hand-drawn illustrations of cats accompanied by religious and poetic text.
