Institutional blind stamp to the title page, "Department of Science and Art Reward'. Folding plate with a closed tear. Contents are complete, but somewhat sunned. Otherwise a good copy of this scarce publication. This work discusses the styles of ornamental art through the ages, and focuses on ornament in general, greek ornament, egyptian ornament and much more. Illustrated throughout with numerous plates and vignettes. Written by Ralph Nicholson Wornum, an English artist and art historian.
