Pages and plates have light tanning and foxing throughout. Previous owner's inscriptions to front free endpapers, half-title page, rear pastedown and title page. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Light tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends.

First Edition. Near fine copy in the original gilt-blocked cloth. Spine bands and panel edges somewhat dust-toned, sun-toned, and rubbed as with age. Bumped corners. Remains well-preserved overall.
