With additional sections exploring other congregations as well as the succession of Bishops in the US. protestant episcopal churches, and a list of clergymen of the South Carolina church.Written by British-born American clergyman, Frederick Dalcho. He also had a major effect on Freemasonry in South Carolina and was a powerful orator, often delivering speeches about the fraternity and its history. In 1824 he with others established The Charleston Gospel Messenger and Protestant Episcopal Register, a monthly journal of church affairs, which was published until 1853.This copy from the General Theological Seminary Library, Chelsea Square, New York. In a modern cloth library rebinding, with the institution's reference taped to the tail of the spine and to the rear board. Externally, very smart, with really only light rubbing and a couple marks to the boards. Library bookplates to the front and rear paste downs.
