In den WarenkorbThree works in one volume, small 8vo, pp. ix, [i], 130; [vi], 63; vi, [ii], 100; contemporary green half roan over marbled boards, later paper label on upper cover. Early armorial bookplate of John Andrew (of St John's, Oxford); modern bookplate of Alex Bridge (bought in 1947). Three spin-offs from the famous Rejected Addresses (1812) by James and Horace Smith: the first work here (though actually bound second in the volume) contains some of the real poems submitted, including poems by W.T. Fitzgerald, Edmund Swift and others. The second work has numerous parodies and keyed satirical poems, including ones supposedly from Scott to his publishers and Byron to John Murray, and others featuring Mrs Siddons, George Colman the younger and Lord Thurlow; and the third has imitations of or references to Thomas Campbell, Robert Bloomfield, Anna Laetitia Barbauld, and even Laurence Sterne ('Yorick's Ghost'). The second work (Accepted Addresses) is in fact incomplete, lacking all after p. 63: it is without the travesty of Macbeth and the additional miscellaneous poems.
