Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - The ASM 2000 workshop was held in the conference center of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) at Monte Verit a, Canton Ticino, March 19-24, 2000. The ASM formalism was proposed together with the thesis that it is suitable to model arbitrary computer systems on arbitrary abstraction levels. ASMs have been successfully used to analyze and specify various hardware and software systems including numerous computer languages. The aim of the workshop was to bring together domain-experts, using ASMs as a practical speci cation method, and theorists working with ASMs and related methods. In addition the workshop served as a forum on theoretical and practical topics that relate to ASMs in a broad sense. Three tutorials including hands-on experience with tools were organized by U. Gl asser and G. del Castillo (on the topic Specifying Concurrent Systems with ASMs'), H. Russ and N. Shankar (on the topic A Tutorial Introduction to PVS'), M. Anlau , P.W. Kutter, and A. Pierantonio (on the topic Developing Domain Speci c Languages'). In response to the organization committee's call for papers, 30 papers were submitted, each of which was independently reviewed by four members of the program committee. This volume presents a selection of 12 of the refereed papers and two reports on industrial ASM application at Siemens AG and Microsoft Research, together with contributions based on the invited talks given by A.

No Binding. Zustand: Very Good. Painted in May 2000, this is an oil on canvas measuring 76 × 101cm. A powerful and darkly cinematic work, this 2000 oil on canvas is a profound testimony to David Holt's lifelong admiration for Francis Bacon. Set beneath the eerie glow of a mauve moon, two enigmatic figures are caught in a tense dialogue with bold, architectural blocks of red. A sharp, angled white line bisects the canvas like a flash of light, heightening the painting's brooding, psychological energy. It is a masterful exploration of space and isolation, echoing the visceral intensity of 20th-century British figurative art. Signed and dated by David Holt to the reverse. Provenance: This painting comes directly from the artist's estate, and the work is offered with full provenance. David Holt (1928-2014). Born in Hythe, Kent. Painter and Lecturer in Art. After National Service, he trained at the Canterbury School of Art, the Hammersmith School of Art and the Royal Academy Schools where he was awarded a medal for drawing and the Knapping Prize. He joined a studio-workshop with Gerald Holtom (designer of the CND symbol) in 1958 where he designed and produced proscenium curtains for schools. In 1958 he was awarded a Harkness Fellowship and travelled across America, producing many drawings and prints of the Pueblo Indians and their life-dance in Santa Fe in New Mexico, where he also worked with artist Agnes Sims. He returned to England in 1960 and continued to paint and work on large textile appliques for schools, churches, and private houses including Spade House in Kent, the former home of H G Wells. He was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 1962, and in 1964 was commissioned to design and make a large textile applique 'Christ in Majesty' which still hangs in the chapel of Christ Church College in Canterbury. He was Head of Art at Canterbury Christ Church University until his retirement in 1995. He exhibited widely in the UK and the States and worked with many art societies and summer schools across East Kent. His work can be found in both private and public collections throughout the UK and America, including the Yale Centre for British Art. His painting "Coastal Watcher" was recently used for the dustwrapper on Modernism and Memory: Rhoda Pritzker and the Art of Collecting (Yale University Press, 2016). Condition: This painting is in very good condition. The painting is dark and in some lights, the colours can look a little less vivid than the images suggest.
